Who We Are    

We, at AZ Guinea Pigs, are committed to rescuing as many guinea pigs as we can. Our nonprofit group is run entirely by volunteers and dedicated to the welfare of these small animals. We began our work in 2017 and established the rescue officially in 2019, and we are a 501-C3 nonprofit organization that relies solely on donations. Our tireless volunteers operate from their homes and have been successful in rescuing guinea pigs in several states, including Arizona, California, Utah, and New Mexico. However, our primary attention is on Phoenix and its surrounding regions.

Where Are Your Events Located
At AZ Guinea Pigs, we hold adoption events at various locations, including PetSmart stores throughout the valley of the sun. Our goal is to encourage people to adopt guinea pigs instead of buying them. Adopting a pet provides a loving home to an animal in need and can be a fulfilling experience for both the pet and the adopter. Additionally, by choosing to adopt, you are helping to reduce the number of animals in shelters and pet stores. We invite you to join us at our adoption events and consider giving a deserving guinea pig a forever home. Remember, why buy when you can adopt!

What We Do

AZ Guinea Pig  Rescue’s primary goal is to is to find  Guinea Pigs loving and permanent homes. We accept all animals who come through our doors. We understand that sometimes it may be necessary to give up a pet and we will do our very best to place yours into a new home. If your pet is in good health, and behaviorally sound, we have an adoption program. Some animals may be disqualified from the adoption program for obvious signs of disease, neglect, or animals who demonstrate a high degree of aggression toward volunteer staff. For those animals, we may offer a forever home foster.

AZ Guinea Pig holds adoption events throughout the year. Our adoption events are community events – We’re committed to matching wonderful, adoptable Guinea Pigs with loving families.

AZ Guinea Pigs also offers the ability to foster a Guinea Pig while a permanent home is sought. Our fosters provide a crucial transition step in our process. We also have a youth foster program that enables youth to learn responsibility and caring. Rescuing a pet guinea pig from AZ Guinea Pigs could bring tremendous amounts of joy and life into your home. With the proper care and adequate attention, these small pets can earn a large spot in your heart.
