Adoption Coordinator
Qualifications
•At least one year of strong customer service experience
•Must be a people person and have strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse communities and building strong, collaborative relationships with volunteers, staff, and the public
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak comfortably with volunteers about how to manage and resolve conflicts and problem solve
•Ability to work with diverse individuals within the broader community and within our organization, including staff and volunteers
•Knowledge of basic computer software like Microsoft suite, Google drive, etc
•Must be able to work a weekend schedule
Responsibilities
•The Adoption Family Coordinator will be expected to work a Weekend schedule, with Saturdays required
•Organize, review, and filter adoption applications for new and current adoptions
•Develop strategies to grow our adoption database by identifying, recruiting and training adoptions through speaking engagements, community events, etc. including handling logistics, agendas, and content for a quarterly series of classes
•Create online educational content for adoption parents to utilize
•Maintain day-to-day relations and communication with adoptions
•Provide top-notch customer service to our adoptions, including helping them address concerns or responding to their questions
•Organize mixers/social gatherings with adoption parents throughout the year, including Volunteer Appreciation Week and annual Volunteer & Staff Appreciation Event, while staffing and supporting other community events as needed for recruitment
•Check adoption request form and spreadsheet to update details daily on status of animals and adoption parents
•Assist in the gathering of supplies and resources when adoptions are scheduled to pick-up
•Conduct all pickup for adoption parents
